Great food, good sized portions and everything is fresh! We shared the dinner for 2 and were very happy with each dish. The lentil soup is to die for.

Amrik Singh and Raja Singh run a fantastic restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious. Raja Singh acts as the main host, and Amrik Singh is the main Chef. They provide lovely, homely ambience in their well-established restaurant. We come here every time we are driving up or down from the Bay Area.

Taj Palace has been a regular spot for us to visit in the area, and has yet to let us down. Located in close proximity to a few other businesses, there is plenty of parking available right next to the restaurant. From the outside it is a regular looking building, but upon walking in you get some themes going on with a decently sized eating area. The typical dining experience here is actually pretty quiet, with usually more online orders than people dining in. The owner is very patient and kind, and is always the one greeting us, taking our order, and checking in on us several times throughout our meal. They have a very extensive menu, but our go to orders are usually the Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, Lamb Korma, and Garlic Naan. All of the items we got are super flavorful, and come in fair portion sizes that are just enough to leave you full. The garlic naan is definitely a highlight, with the perfect amount of garlic that adds to the soft and crispy texture. Overall Taj Palace is definitely underrated, with a ton of yummy food options it is worth trying out!

It is very challenging to find good Indian restaurants in SLO county, but were referred to Taj Palace by a friend and the hype is real! The owner greeted us and was so welcoming and friendly as soon as we walked in. Located near the Cal Poly campus, there is always a bit of congestion/traffic right around here but it's worth it once you try it. We ordered butter chicken, chicken tikka masala with garlic and plan naan! It was delicious and the naan was perfectly cooked. As an foodie who LOVES Indian food, I would absolutely come back here again!

My wife and I split the butter, chicken and lamb korma with some buttered naan. All the food was excellent, I was semi-concerned about having lamb as it can be gamy, but this was great. Service was good, certainly a more traditional Indian restaurant and seemingly not frequented by locals. More of a to go order place it seems, although there are plenty of seats. It's a bit dark inside and very dark outside near the door such that the business did not really look open when we arrived. I can imagine some updates in that department may help. But of course it's the food that really matters and they seem to have a firm grasp in that area.
